Artist's Story:

"Growing up in Marietta, Georgia…I was given an amazing opportunity to explore many avenues of potential career paths. The one thing it lacked (in my opinion), were artistic opportunities. Due to this I struggled with what I was meant to do. I attended Kennesaw State University immediately after graduating Walton High School. After two years of beginning to work towards a business degree, I had a change of heart and decided to change my major to psychology. It had always interested me, but six months later it still didn't feel right.

About this time, my Grandmother traded a local potter some tax work for a free lesson. She didn't care to really take the pottery lessons, so I went in her place. I immediately knew this was a great outlet for me. Ever since I've been covered in clay. Once I had a lot of pieces, I started to run out of room. This is when I decided I needed to start selling my work. In just 10 years, the business has a grown larger than I thought it would. I love what I do and am truly thankful every time I see someone appreciate and use my ceramics or crafts.

Once I had my business going, I switched my major one more time to Environmental horticulture. I transferred to Chattahoochee Technical College's Program and finally my puzzle felt complete. I had taken the two things I loved most and made sure to do them every day. See- my second love was gardening. I loved to work in my yard and experiment with new plants. However I never considered making it a second career. Within the next year, I was able to finally graduate with my Associates in Environmental Horticulture, the horticulture diploma, and the Landscape Specialist certificate.

In between orders, you will now find me designing landscapes and staring at my plants. Other days you may find me crafting away while listening to the history channel.

I might still be what those would call a "starving artist", but my soul is full. For that I will always be thankful.
